About the museum
The main mission of the Museu del Fang de Orba is to highlight the pottery history of Orba and Orbeta, to rescue from oblivion the memory of the clay craft, and to underline its importance as a traditional occupation of the municipality from the late 17th century to the mid-20th century.
It opened in 2018 in the Casa de la Senyoria. Its permanent collection brings together pieces from more than forty private donations and loans, which show local ceramic production, its historical development and the features that distinguish it from that of other towns. The museum also holds oral testimonies from people who practised the trade.
