About the museum
The Museu Francesc Boncompte in Ponts, in the comarca of La Noguera, is one of the most unusual collections in the Lleida region. Bearing its creator's name, it brings together a large arsenal of firearms and bladed weapons from all periods, and it resembles a permanent exhibition more than a classic museum.
The collection began to take shape in the fifties, when Francesc Boncompte started restoring firearms. The war section is the most important, but the museum also includes old motorcycles, craft tools arranged by trade and theme, antique toys and other objects that are hard to classify.
The building now houses the Ponts Tourist Information Office, so that the museum visit and tourist information are in the same place.
