About the museum
The Casa de los Duendes, also called Casa Verde (Green House), is a 19th-century house in the historic centre of Puerto Lumbreras. It is considered an example of the typical house of a middle-class family of the town, linked to the family known as “los Mayorajos”, and it is one of the few buildings of its era that survive. The council acquired and rehabilitated it for public use.
The room devoted to graphology was formed from the donation of Alfonso Velasco Andreo, a resident of the town known as Augusto Vels. It brings together documents, letters and magazines on graphology, among them the work “Escritura y Personalidad” (Handwriting and Personality). It is presented as the only museum of its kind in the Region of Murcia.
The building also includes a room for temporary exhibitions, a lecture and screening room, a local history room with the municipal historical archive, and a small library.
