About the museum
Delsbo hembygdsförening (Delsbo Local Heritage Society) runs Delsbo forngård (old farm), where the oldest building dates from 1520. On the site stand three old farmhouses from the 1600s and 1700s, Tjärnmyrastugan, Norrbergsstugan and Per Nilsas. In the farmhouses are wall paintings by Gustaf Reuter and Erik Ersson, who are among the best-known painters of Delsbo.
In the old farm there is also a textile museum with rich collections of Delsbo costumes and various textile techniques such as Delsbosöm (Delsbo embroidery), Delsbo knyppling (Delsbo bobbin lace) and näversöm (birch-bark sewing). There is also a shop. The old farm has a view of Delsbo church and bell tower, and Delsbo is known for its annual fiddlers' gathering (spelmansstämma) at the old farm.
