About the museum
Gudmundrå local heritage farm overlooks Kyrkviken just outside Kramfors town centre and is run by Gudmundrå Local Heritage Association, which was founded in 1935. Many people from Kramfors still call the farm Kramfors hembygdsgård. The site includes about ten buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries, among them the main building Östbygården and the croft Skogströmsgården, which was moved here in 1965 when Ådalsskolan was built on the original plot.
The association manages about 13,000 documented objects. The farm includes, among other things, a summer-pasture cowshed from Fiskja bodar and a cooking house from Bergomsbodarna, and the bakehouse is used for baking flatbread (tunnbröd), which is the backbone of the association.
An accordion museum was opened on the farm in 2017. It includes the Sten Bergvall collection with several thousand accordion recordings, which reflect music and dance life in Ådalen. During the year the association organizes music cafés, bonfire evenings, markets, celebrations for National Day and Midsummer, and a summer café.
