About the museum
Högenstugan lies in Ölmanäs in Åsa outside Kungsbacka and is used by Ölmevalla hembygdsgille. Since the 1970s the site has been the setting for the guild's traditional midsummer celebration, which is organised by volunteers. During the summer, craft meetings are also held in the cottage in cooperation with Kungsbacka hemslöjdsgille (Kungsbacka handicraft guild).
Ölmevalla hembygdsgille is one of the guilds of Nordhallands hembygdsförening (North Halland local heritage association) and works on a voluntary basis to show and preserve the history of the district.
