About the museum
Husqvarna Museum shows the company's history, from the rifle factory by the Huskvarna falls to modern construction and garden machines. Already in the 1950s there were plans for a museum, but it was not until 1982 that the Husqvarna Vapenmuseum (Husqvarna Weapons Museum), which dealt with hunting weapons, was inaugurated. The factory museum opened on 27 April 1993 in the building that until the 1940s housed a weapons workshop, on the initiative of retired Husqvarna employees. The weapons museum then moved in and became part of the exhibition.
Huskvarna hembygdsförening (Huskvarna Local Heritage Society) has been responsible for operations since the start, together with Husqvarna AB, which provides the premises. Since 2015 the museum has been called Husqvarna Museum. In 2019 the Stiftelsen Husqvarna Museum (Husqvarna Museum Foundation) was formed to manage the collections.
Husqvarna's history begins with the Jönköping rifle factory, founded in 1620, and with the boring works by the Huskvarna falls from 1689. During Wilhelm Tham's time from 1877, production was broadened to include hunting weapons, stoves, bicycles, motorcycles and household products. The museum is located in the oldest factory building, next to the waterfall.
