About the museum
Motor & nostalgimuseet is located in the old steam power station of the Grängesberg mine by Södra Hörken. The museum gives a nostalgic picture of objects and settings from the 1920s onwards and describes itself as a museum for the whole family.
The main hall houses about twenty veteran cars, and outdoors there are restored historic excavators, older industrial machines and lorries. The collections also include motorcycles, mopeds, outboard motors, aircraft engines, radios, brewery history and forestry, as well as a section with old cameras, film projectors and a darkroom.
The museum has recreated settings such as a driving school from the 1930s, shops from the same period and a complete car workshop from the 1950s. Every year in August the Maskindagen (Machine Day) is held. The museum is open in summer, and groups can book visits when it is closed.
