About the museum
Runnevåls skolmuseum is located in the old school in Runnevål in Kil municipality. The museum has a school interior from the municipality's oldest school, which started in 1854, and shows how teaching and the school environment looked in the past.
In the basement is Karl Nyléns hembygdsmuseum (homestead museum) with ironworks objects from the district. The school building is no longer used as a school and houses several associations. In autumn 2025 Kil's municipal executive committee (kommunstyrelsen) decided to sell the building to an association formed by associations, for SEK 1.
The school museum is shown by arrangement via Kils hembygdsförening (Kil local heritage society) or Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan Värmland (adult education association).
