About the museum
Kunstraum Kreuzlingen sees itself as a venue for contemporary art and the discourse around it. It is run by artists and is an organ of the Thurgauische Kunstgesellschaft, which is its sponsor. In 2026 it celebrates its 40th anniversary; the anniversary year is accompanied by a gazette with stories from the archive.
Besides exhibitions, the program includes discursive events, performances, social gatherings, the Kunstraum Kaffee and numerous educational offerings. The Kunstraum is located in the building of the former underwear factory Schiesser on Bodanstrasse.
From June 2026 until an estimated autumn 2027, this building is undergoing extensive renovation. The Kunstraum was closed from June to August 2026; since August, the rooms have hosted a joint experimental operation with the Kulturzentrum Kult-X, featuring cinema, concerts, theater and art events. There are no regular exhibition opening hours during the renovation.
