About the museum
The collection goes back to Ottokar Pessl, the son of a Viennese entrepreneur, who became enthusiastic about unusual automobiles from the late 1960s and early 1970s, starting with a Cadillac. Over the years, individual vehicles grew into a large collection for which space soon ran short.
In Sigmundsherberg, a hall for about 150 cars was found, where the cars were also shown to the public; when it became too small, a second, larger hall was added. The official opening as a classic car and motor vehicle museum took place in June 2010. In 2020, the house closed until further notice.
After conversion and expansion, the museum reopened on July 27, 2024. It now shows more than 400 vehicles, which are restored together with the Austrian Society for Historic Motor Vehicles (ÖGHK): American cruisers, classic sports cars, vehicles from well-known films and military vehicles. Some cars had prominent previous owners, such as Ronald Reagan or Dean Martin.
