About the museum
The Kurioseum is a hands-on museum based on the concept of a science center. Its foundation is the private collection of physics experiment objects belonging to Karl Zeitlinger, which his daughter, physics teacher Maria Schmid, continually expands and makes accessible together with a non-profit association.
On about 250 square meters in the house on Feichsenstraße, numerous stations invite visitors to experiment: colored shadows and bent light, optical illusions, acoustics, mechanics, astronomy and technology. How a ball seems to float on its own in an airstream can be explored, as can much else – skill and humor are explicitly part of it.
The Kurioseum does not see itself as a fixed location alone: outdoors there are offers at Aktiv Camp Purgstall and the planet trail "Abenteuer Universum" in Puchenstuben, plus workshops, seminars and summer camps for children on robotics and science.
