About the museum
The Seevogelmuseum is located in the house of the Seewirt Lang, the so-called Seekeller, right at the Seebad (lido) of Illmitz on Lake Neusiedl. It is devoted to the birdlife around the lake, including the great egret and the spoonbill. Stuffed animals of other species native to the Seewinkel are also shown.
The museum is only open in the warm season, roughly from Easter until October. It belongs to the restaurant business of the Seewirt, whose guests can visit it free of charge. Details of its founding have not been published.
