About the museum
The Nostalgisch Media Museum grew out of the collection of an enthusiast who began as a child by keeping old radios, gramophones and other devices. A small group of friends and family helped to house the collection in its own museum space in De Panne and to restore old devices. As early as 2007 the local press wrote about the monthly opening.
The collection includes objects from about 1900 to 1990: valve radios, television sets, photo and film cameras, gramophones and record players, projectors, video and cassette recorders, microphones, amplifiers and aerials. The museum wants to preserve this technological heritage and make it freely accessible, including to schools and youth associations that plan an educational visit.
