About the museum
The Muzej Moslavine was founded on 15 March 1960 as the Muzej i arhiv narodne revolucije Moslavine (Museum and Archive of the People’s Revolution of Moslavina), and at first worked mainly as a historical department. In 1963 it received its present name and extended its work to archaeology and ethnology, and in 1972 the gallery department opened. The founder is the Town of Kutina.
The museum is housed in the centre of Kutina, in the Baroque summer residence of the Counts Erdödy from the mid-18th century. The building took its present appearance after a historical restoration in 1895. The museum’s gallery is in a separate building on the same square.
Four departments – gallery, cultural-historical, archaeological and ethnographic – have for decades collected material in the field and preserved the heritage of Moslavina from the 19th to the mid-20th century.
