About the museum
The K-S 5 “U potoka” infantry bunker is a freestanding two-storey object of the Czechoslovak fortifications of the second resistance class. It belonged to the Červený Potok sector and covered the road near Dolní Morava. The concrete was poured from 30 November to 6 December 1936. At the time of the Munich crisis the bunker was almost ready for combat, but the mountings in the turrets and part of the ammunition were missing.
Before the occupation of the border region in 1938, all armament and equipment was removed. The bunker survived the war undamaged, but in 1953 a scrap-metal collection point removed the armoured turrets, damaging the ceiling and the internal partitions.
The bunker has been managed by the Klub vojenské historie Kralka since 1994, and volunteers have been returning it to its 1938 appearance since 1993. During the roughly forty-minute tour visitors can see period armament and equipment, for example an anti-tank gun, a working Kunz Buldog pump, a working water supply, reconstructed armoured turrets and the newly completed filter room.
