About the museum
The Městské muzeum Radnice is on the second floor of the neo-Renaissance town hall on the T. G. Masaryka square in Frýdlant. It is run by the town of Frýdlant and is one of three sites that offer visitors a joint city ticket together with the Špitálek museum and the town hall tower.
The permanent exhibitions present a small picture gallery, the Valdštejn Room (Wallenstein Room), which recalls the time when Frýdlant belonged to Albrecht of Wallenstein, a peasant parlour and a burgher's room. These are complemented by a music salon, mementos of old Frýdlant, firearms, an executioner's sword and other curiosities. The visit is self-guided, so each visitor decides how long to spend.
The museum also offers services to researchers. The reading room is open every Tuesday from 10:00 to 15:00, and on other days by prior arrangement. The town hall tower tour, which starts at the museum entrance, is conducted with a guide.
