About the museum
The MO-S 22 U Františka infantry bunker is a separate two-sided, two-story bunker of the third resistance class, concreted at the turn of September and October 1936. It had a crew of 37 men; its features include a toilet on the combat floor, reversed closures of grenade chutes, and quarters with an office for artillery observers. German loopholes have also survived here.
The bunker is managed by the Asociace přátel Československého opevnění Opavska a Hlučínska (Association of Friends of the Czechoslovak Fortifications of Opava and Hlučín), which has made it publicly accessible again since 2013. Members of the association cleared the bunker, tidied its surroundings, installed temporary lighting and are gradually building up an exhibition. Unlike the nearby MO-S 21 bunker, which is being restored to its 1938 state, this exhibition is devoted to the events of 1944–1945 and the postwar period that followed.
