About the museum

The N-S 82 Březinka infantry bunker was part of the heavy fortifications on the north-eastern border of Czechoslovakia. In 1938 it had two armoured bells made in Vítkovice, which were torn out during the occupation. Since the end of 1989 it has been managed by the Klub vojenské historie Náchod. The club took it over as a ruin with the bells removed and a devastated interior, and gradually restored it to the condition of autumn 1938, when it was permanently occupied by troops; the bells were replaced with exact replicas.

The most valuable exhibits in the fully equipped and armed structure are a fully functional period filter room from 1938, probably the only surviving fortress telephone exchange, and an original stove from an army surplus sale in November 1938. In the left firing room stands an original 47 mm vz. 36 anti-tank gun, which, according to its serial number, was indeed installed at Březinka in 1938 and taken away to Norway by the Germans during the occupation. It has stood there since 2 May 2003.

Březinka is the heart of the Běloves Fortress Open-Air Museum. It is also part of the site with bunker N-S 84 Voda, which has an exhibition on the Czechoslovak army from 1918 to 1945, and bunker N-S 81 Lom, which has an exhibition on fortifications. The buildings are linked by the Běloves–Dobrošov educational trail.
