About the museum

Infantry bunker N-S 84 “Voda” stands in Náchod-Běloves and forms the entrance gate to the Běloves fortress open-air museum. It was formerly used as a civil defence shelter. Volunteers from the Klub vojenské historie Náchod (Náchod Military History Club) rebuilt it and set up an exhibition on the Czechoslovak army inside.

The exhibition traces the history of the army from 1918 to 1945. It shows original uniforms, weapons and equipment, recalls the legionnaires of the First World War and the anti-Nazi resistance during the Second World War, including the story of radio operator Jiří Potůček from the Silver A group. A separate section is devoted to the units of the Stráž obrany státu (State Defence Guard) and their clashes with the Sudeten German Freikorps, and to the fighting of May 1945 at the nearby Běloves customs house.

On display is the complete development series of light machine guns by Zbrojovka Brno, the dioramas “Sokolovo”, “Tobrúk” and “Ilegální odbojová činnost”, and a video projection. The visit is individual, without a guide, and lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. The bunker is run by the Klub vojenské historie Náchod, z. s.
