About the museum
Jan Bula was born in Lukov in 1920 and was executed in Jihlava in 1952. The memorial room was established in the restored parsonage building in Lukov and was ceremonially opened on 10 September 2016. The Brno Diocese financed part of the permanent exhibition.
The main permanent exhibition is titled “Věřím, že můj život nebyl nadarmo” (“I believe that my life was not in vain”). Information panels present the life and martyrdom of Father Jan Bula. On display are his first-Mass chasuble and chalice, original paintings, and the ceramics he made while studying theology.
A second permanent exhibition, titled “Vyhnanci” (“The Expelled”), commemorates the farming families of Lukov and the neighbouring Vícenice, who were forcibly removed from their homes in the 1950s.
