About the museum
The museum operates in the former dairy of the Imavere cooperative dairy, which worked from 1908 to 1950. On the ground floor the restored dairy equipment is shown, together with the milk reception room, the production room, the cream-separating room, the cheese room and the boiler house; this is the museum’s biggest attraction. On the second floor the beginnings of dairying are traced back to the manor dairy period (the first were founded in 1850 at Vaida and Kunda) and the development of cooperative dairies from 1908.
The museum applies the principles of the green museum and belongs to the Museum Card network.
