About the museum
Koguva is a protected historic village, a living settlement rather than an open-air museum. The main object of the museum is the Tooma farm, the birthplace of the writer Juhan Smuul, where buildings and objects characteristic of the Muhu farmstead have been preserved. The museum also includes the Välja farm, an old village school and the Art Barn; the museum also manages the Tooma and Andruse windmills.
Exhibitions change by season: in different years the old village school, the buildings of the Välja farm and the threshing floor of the Tooma farm have housed children’s drawings, product design on Muhu themes, natural sacred places of Muhumaa and displays of private collectors.

| Good to know | Koguva is a living village: visitors must respect the privacy of the residents and may not enter private yards; dogs must be kept on a lead in the village. The themes of the educational programmes are the festive calendar of the folk year, old school life, farm buildings and tools, Muhu national costumes and Juhan Smuul. |
