About the museum
The Tabivere muuseum operates in the former administrator’s house of Tabivere manor and presents the cultural heritage of the Tabivere area. The museum invites visitors to see how great history becomes personal.
The exhibition takes the history of the area from prehistory through peasant life to the creation of the Republic of Estonia and the restoration of independence. Particular attention is paid to the War of Independence and the battles in the area, and to three commanders: Major General Ants Kurvits, Colonel Karl Parts and Major General Johannes Orasmaa.
The museum has stories of 19th-century farm life, local education, societies and associations, as well as the steam engines used for threshing. Traditionally, Independence Day is celebrated at the museum on 24 February, and the museum takes part in the Museum Night.
