About the museum
The South Ostrobothnia Tractor Museum (Etelä-Pohjanmaan traktorimuseo) operates in a house built in 1895 as a youth association hall in Nurmo. The museum's founder, Matti Jaskari, bought the property in 1978 and converted it into an agricultural machinery workshop. In 2001–2003 a cold hall of over 1,000 square metres was built in the yard, and the museum's opening was celebrated in autumn 2004.
The museum is the largest private tractor collection in Finland: there are around 150 tractors, of which about a hundred have been restored. The main building has 24 tractors, a small café area and a workshop where restoration work is carried out. The hall contains over a hundred different tractors, combine harvesters and manure spreader trailers, restored, roadworthy and unrestored.
The brands in the main building include David Brown, Massey Harris, Hanomag, Deutz, Steyr, Zetor, Fiat, Fordson and Farmall. The Massey-Harris K 20 is possibly the only one in Finland.
