About the museum
Geta nostalgi och motormuseum lies in the far north of Åland. The idea was born in the early 2000s as a garage for the winter storage of vintage cars. Construction began in 2015. The museum was first opened to the volunteers in September 2016, and the building was completed in spring 2017. The building covers 385 square metres and has a basement, a nostalgia museum and a veranda.
The museum has vehicles from 1919 to the 1960s, including vintage cars, motorcycles and mopeds, as well as many other objects donated by private individuals or bought by the owners. In 2019 Edo’s filling station was moved from Mariehamn to the museum, and it has been preserved as it was when it closed in 2018.
The museum is run by the private owners with the help of volunteers, and it is seeking sponsors so that it can have regular opening hours.
