About the museum
The museum began in 1968 in Kauhava, when the Air Force Aircraft Technical School and the Lentotekniikan Kilta (Aircraft Technology Guild) opened an aviation exhibition there. When the school moved to Halli, the guild moved with it, and the aviation exhibition opened in autumn 1971. The museum has been at its current location since 1980.
About ten aircraft types are on display in the arched hangar, including the Bristol Bulldog, Caudron G.3, VL Haukka II and the rare Rumpler 6B. The hangar also houses aircraft engines and other former aviation equipment. In the brick building there are air force uniforms from different eras, as well as flight, instrument, weapons and radio equipment. The library, with manuals and aviation literature, is in the Veljesten Wanha Konttori building.
The museum is maintained by the Lentotekniikan Kilta ry.
