About the museum

The Kråkö boatbuilding museum presents the boatbuilding tradition of Kråkö and the island’s famous boatbuilders. The museum is run by the Kråkö village association (Kråkö Bygdeförening).

The museum’s central object is a wooden boat under construction, which is used to show the basic stages of boatbuilding, how the planks are bent and pressed into shape, and the tools used by boatbuilders.

The museum is located at the tip of the Girsnäs peninsula in Kråkö, opposite Haiko manor, about 16 kilometres south of Porvoo town centre.
