About the museum
The Paattinen local heritage museum is Turku’s only local heritage museum. It is located next to Paattinen church and consists of a loan storehouse (lainamakasiini) and the Pappila barn (Pappilan aitta). The loan storehouse was originally built in 1874. The museum presents the area’s traditional livelihoods and customs.
The collection was moved in 1968 to a parish storehouse (pitäjänmakasiini). When Paattinen was merged into Turku in 1973, the management of the museum was transferred to the City of Turku. The buildings are owned by the city, and the museum activities are run by the Turku Museum Centre (Turun museokeskus).
