About the museum
Seffers local heritage farm in Lövö is a farm from the 18th century, built in 1772, with its exterior and interior preserved in period style. The house was lived in until the mid-1950s. The music professor and folk-music researcher Otto Andersson, born in the same village, bought the farm because he wanted a local heritage farm in his childhood village, and he donated it to the Vårdö Marthaförening, which looks after the house and passes on old traditions.
The house was renovated in 2013–2014 and has since been open to the public for a few weeks each summer. The farm displays, among other things, a windmill, agricultural tools and a midsummer pole. Coffee with Ålandspannkaka can be had, and guided tours are possible.
