About the museum
Taidemuseo Eemil is located in the centre of Lapinlahti and is run by the Halosten Museosäätiö (Halonen Museum Foundation). The museum preserves the heritage of the Halonen artist family from Lapinlahti. For centuries a farming family cultivated the Linnansalmi farm, and about ten members of the family made their careers in art, sculpture, art casting, crafts, music and theatre.
The collection exhibition Halosten taiteilijasuku (The Halonen Artist Family) presents art and objects from the collections of the Halonen Museum Foundation. On display are, among others, works by sculptor Eemil Halonen (1875–1950), painter Pekka Halonen (1865–1933), Antti Halonen, art caster Arttu Halonen and Kalle Halonen. The exhibition will be on display until around the end of 2027.
The museum aims to preserve Eemil Halonen’s sculpture collection through a conservation project.
