About the museum
The Tuusula Workers' Home Museum is located on Kirkkotie on the church hill in Tuusula and preserves the heritage of workers' homes. The museum presents the lives of rural craftspeople in the early 20th century. It has been on the church hill since 1981.
The museum is run by the Tuusulan Työläiskotimuseon kannatusyhdistys ry (support association), which keeps the museum open to the public in the summer months. The municipality of Tuusula supports the activities with annual grants and owns the land of the museum grounds.
The museum grounds include the main museum building, an outbuilding, a smithy and a storehouse, as well as a rest room. The association built the rest room and the storehouse mainly through voluntary community work (talkoot), and the museum's activities rely on volunteers.
