About the museum
The Woikosken Tehdasmuseo tells the story of a Finnish gas company. Woikoski Oy began as a kimröök factory founded in Vehkalahti in 1882, and the company has operated at its present site in Voikoski since 1917. Now run by the fourth generation, the family business is a pioneer in the gas and chemical industries.
The museum is located on the Voikoski factory site. The guided tour includes, among other things, the factory manager’s office, the wage window (palkkaluukku), the factory’s old equipment and production from the old machines to the first gas cylinders, and an old laboratory. The museum is part of the Kymi Industrial Heritage Route.
