About the museum

The Musée des Arts et des Métiers du vin is housed on the Château Turcan estate in Ansouis, in the heart of the Luberon regional natural park. The owners present the estate as a century-old family business that combines wines, a museum, event spaces and a holiday cottage.

The collection was assembled by collectors with a passion for the world of the vine and wine. It holds more than 3,000 objects, everyday and exceptional alike, across 1,300 m², and follows the entire chain from vine to glass.

The route presents 18th- and 19th-century tools for vineyard and cellar work, a 1900s laboratory, a reconstructed cooperage, a glassworks with bottles and glasses, some dating back to the 15th century, and a gallery of journeymen’s masterpieces. At the centre, the Carré des Pressoirs brings together fourteen presses under a 400 m² hall, from the late Middle Ages to the early 20th century.
