About the museum
OL Le Musée opened on May 30, 2018, in the Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu. The idea dates back to 2016: the club's president at the time entrusted the project to an enthusiast of the club's history, who became its first curator. The opening, initially planned for 2017, was postponed by a year in order to assemble richer collections.
The museum occupies about 1,300 m² on two levels, on the north-stand side, in the same building as the club shop. It is run by the OL association and preserves the club's historical heritage. The route tells the story of Olympique Lyonnais since 1950, with an important place given to the women's team.
Among the items on show are a wall of player licences, or replicas of licences, of players who passed through the club; a replica of the clock from the old Gerland stadium; match balls; Juninho's football boots; and loaned items such as Ada Hegerberg's women's Ballon d'Or. Empty spaces are reserved for future acquisitions.
