About the museum
The local history museum of the municipality of Niederaichbach is housed on the second floor of the multipurpose building near the Isar bridge and illustrates the past of the village and its surroundings. Several collections bring together exhibits, documents and illustrated information boards.
One focus is rural everyday life: old agricultural tools, above all woodworking tools, along with textile production featuring an original loom from 1847. The Kröning pottery trade once practiced in the village is represented by numerous pieces. The museum also displays prehistoric finds, geological specimens, and evidence of faith and custom from the Middle Ages.
Another section is devoted to the noble family of Königsfeld, who shaped village life for more than 200 years: weapons and other grave goods come from the crypt of the former parish church of Reichersdorf, uncovered during its restoration. An information board also recalls gold washing in the Isar, which was carried out as a sideline in the municipality for centuries. The museum is looked after by a municipal museum officer.
