About the museum
The Burgtor has been a striking landmark of Oberaudorf for around 500 years. In the historic gate building, the local history museum shows how the town has developed; settlement here goes back to the Bronze Age, around 3,500 years ago.
The exhibition highlights key events and traces the development from the first traces of settlement to the present day. Topics include geology, settlement, Inn river navigation, the Auerburg, the Gebirgsschützen (alpine rifle companies) and tourism.
