About the museum
The Hans Eisenmann House is the heart of the Lusen National Park Center near Neuschönau and is run by the Bavarian Forest National Park Administration. It serves as the central point of contact for visitors to the protected area and provides information about the idea of letting nature be left to itself.
The permanent exhibition "Wege in die Natur – Eine Geschichte von Wald und Menschen" explores what people associate with the forest, how the national park has developed since its founding, and who lives in the emerging wilderness. For children there is a separate route with eleven listening stations, a rally and the Waldwerkstatt (forest workshop), which includes a miniature of the Lusen.
The house also offers a cinema hall, a reading gallery, a café and the national park shop. Around the building lie the animal outdoor area, a treetop walk, and plant and rock outdoor areas.
