About the museum
The brewery museum belongs to the Bräu im Moos brewery and brewery inn in Tüßling. The family business dates back to 1870, when Johann Holzhauser founded the brewery; a year later the associated inn was added. In 1893 Georg Münch, married to Holzhauser's daughter Amalie, took over the business, which also included a farm alongside the brewery and inn. Between 1915 and 1925 brewing was suspended because raw materials were lacking; afterwards Eugen Münch resumed operations with his parents, laboriously. Since 1986 Eugen Münch junior has run the house together with his wife Andrea; their daughter Carolin is now also active in the company.
The museum displays a large number of historic brewing installations, which make the entire brewing process traceable, from malt crushing to the bottling of the beer. According to the brewery, the collection is unique in Southeast Bavaria. Admission is free; groups of ten or more can be guided through the museum and the brewery after prior registration.
