About the museum
The Jagd-Musseum on the Stadtplatz in Mühldorf am Inn is not a conventional hunting museum with trophies and weapons, but a satirical cabinet of curiosities. The initiator and designer is the Mühldorf resident Hans Kotter; the pun in the name "Musseum" suggests that you "must" see it.
The tour pokes fun at the hunting scene in the style of Karl Valentin: on display are "shot" water taps, bookworms, a "laughing cellar" instead of a wine cellar, and other absurd arrangements. Much of the objects come from Hans Kotter himself; in addition there are contributions from well-known cartoonists such as Haderer, Haitzinger, Deix and Uli Stein, as well as from Herbert Achternbusch.
The museum is only open one afternoon a week, always on Wednesdays.
