About the museum

The Furthmühle in the upper Glonn valley was built in 1828 by the millwright J. A. Lindt from Grafing and was originally the manorial mill of Weyern. It is the last grain mill still in operation in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck and is under heritage protection.

The building shows the development from milling craft to the art mill. The Schrotgang (coarse-grinding mill), roller mills, plansifters, cleaning machines and conveying technology have been preserved and are functional, as are the Hochgang of 1830 in the grain mill, the Vollgatter (full-frame saw) of 1901 and the timber winch in the sawmill. On tours, visitors can hear and see the grinding mechanisms rumble, conveyor belts run and sieves vibrate.

The Aumüller family is closely connected with the mill: Johann Aumüller from Überacker leased it on November 1, 1900, and bought it in 1919. To this day the family runs the business, including a mill shop with its own flour products, and offers tours led by the master miller as well as an educational program for children.
