About the museum
The museum belongs to the Heimat- und Kulturkreis Kutenholz (local heritage and cultural association), founded in 1986, which cultivates local history, traditional crafts, and the Low German language. It is housed in the farm complex "Heimathus op de Heidloh" on Schützenstraße.
The ensemble consists of a thatched two-post half-timbered house, a drive-through barn, a wagon shed, and a bakehouse. Exhibition rooms are set up in all parts of the buildings; the room on the upper floor of the main house can be reached by a stairlift.
The permanent exhibition displays tools and everyday objects from crafts, agriculture, and the household. Traditional and newer equipment are placed side by side, for example for washing and ironing or dairy processing, making the shift to electric aids visible. The association's grounds also include a festival square, a beehouse, and a Göpel (horse-powered gear).
