About the museum
The Heimat- und Apothekenmuseum (local history and pharmacy museum) is in Weferlingen, in the manor farmyard opposite the castle ruin with its keep. It is run by the Bürgerverein Weferlingen, which was formed in 2010 from the merger of the Kulturverein and the Bürgerverein Fachwerk and thus continues a Bürgerverein (citizens' association) already founded in 1896.
The collection shows rural life in the 19th and 20th centuries: middle-class everyday life, crafts and historic stove plates. A particular piece is a completely preserved pharmacy interior from 1836. There is also a butterfly collection and a gallery for changing exhibitions. The attic of the building serves as storage and is not part of the exhibition.
