About the museum
The Heimatkundlicher Arbeitskreis (local history working group) was founded in 1984 in the district of Bergendorf. Its collection was first housed in a villa built in 1902, which the owner family of the Tannenhof let the group use free of charge for more than 25 years.
In 2010 the association adopted a new name and a new location. It is now called Heimatkundlicher Arbeitskreis Gemeinde Holzheim e. V., and the museum is housed in the former teachers' residence behind the town hall on Kirchplatz, which the municipality has made available to the association on a long-term basis.
The house displays rural furniture, traditional costumes, handicraft objects and a fully furnished classroom from earlier times.
