About the museum
The Kirchseeon local history museum is run by the Verein für Heimatkunde Kirchseeon e. V. (local heritage association) and opened in 2003. It is on the upper floor of the ATSV hall on Sportplatzweg.
The permanent exhibition traces the lives of people in the area of today's market municipality, from Bronze Age finds through the Celts and Romans to railway construction in the 19th century and everyday life in the 20th century. A special theme is the Schwellenwerk (sleeper works) as the cradle of the village.
Since opening, the association has shown changing themed exhibitions each year on everyday life and crafts, and there are smaller displays in the town hall foyer. During opening hours, farm chronicles and digital versions for genealogy research on the districts of the municipality are available, and the association publishes a yearbook.
