About the museum
Since 1993 the Heimatmuseum Pretzsch has been housed in a baroque half-timbered house on Goetheallee, which originally served as an administrative building. The exhibition gives an overview of the town and local history, folk culture and the historic crafts of the Elbe town of Pretzsch and its surroundings.
The exhibits include, among other things, a hand loom with a spinning wheel and a furnished kitchen-living room. The rooms also contain a staged classroom from around 1900 and an old merchant's shop.
