About the museum
The Klepper Museum e. V. preserves the history of the Rosenheim folding boat manufacturer, which began in 1907. It sees itself as a meeting place for folding boat enthusiasts and canoeists and, according to the association, is the fourth museum in Rosenheim.
The exhibition commemorates, among other things, the 1936 Olympic Games, where Klepper folding boats were successful, and Hannes Lindemann's Atlantic crossing in 1956. Also on show are original parts of early boat frames, a prototype by inventor Alfred Heurich and frames from other folding boat manufacturers. Because a fire in 1995 destroyed the boats the factory had collected, almost all of the exhibits come from donations by members and private individuals.
