Family exhibition on the Birds of the Year chosen since 1971, with watercolours by Karl Meyer and texts by his son Christoph Meyer, plus hands-on stations and games about native birds and their role in songs, fairy tales and idioms.
About the museum
The museum is housed in the Malerwinkelhaus, a half-timbered building from the 17th century and a landmark of Marktbreit. The town of Marktbreit is the sponsor, and a support association and the Unterfränkische Kulturstiftung (Lower Franconian Cultural Foundation) also support the house.
Two permanent exhibitions shape the tour. The Frauen-Zimmer (women's room) offers social-history insights into women's everyday lives between 1850 and 1950. The Römerkabinett (Roman cabinet) is devoted to the former Roman double legionary camp near Marktbreit and the life of its soldiers, with hands-on stations.
