About the museum
The Pfarreimuseum Greßthal (parish museum) is housed in the former rectory of the parish of St. Bartholomew, a baroque building on the Pfarrberg. The parish has made its treasures and its history accessible to visitors here.
On the second floor are the domestic chapel and the parish treasury: vestments, liturgical vessels, sculptures and religious images. On the first floor is the historical parish library, with books for the clergy. The representative reception hall has also been preserved on this floor.
A small archaeological collection is also set up on this floor. It consists of surface finds and offers insight into the past of the so-called Reichtal, the name the area around Greßthal used to have. The exhibition is updated on an ongoing basis. For children, there are hands-on stations during guided tours.
