About the museum
The museum goes back to the car dealer Albert Streicher, who in 1991 opened his own exhibition for his collection in the Lalling district of Stritzling, just a few steps from the family business Streicher Automobile. The family still runs the museum today; as they themselves stress, cars are more than a business to them.
On display are almost 100 automobiles from all eras – from small post-war cars and luxury saloons to sports cars among the best known of their time, such as the Ferrari F40, Porsche 959 or Lamborghini Diablo. In addition there are more than 200 motorcycles tracing the development of the two-wheeler; one lovingly restored piece is a BMW R 42 from 1926. A particular focus is thousands of miniature model cars, which are among the largest collections of their kind.
The art section of the museum shows, alongside curiosities, mainly works by the glass artist Kristian Klepsch, whose works can be seen here on an especially large scale. The museum used to be open on fixed days; today a visit is possible only for groups by prior telephone appointment, and tours are arranged individually.
